A place for media literacy and the public interest

Recognizing the vital connections between media and democracy, the Idaho Media Initiative (IMI) works to promote media literacy and civic engagement through education and outreach. Based at Boise State University, the IMI serves as a community resource for media education and professional training in order to help facilitate informed democratic self-governance. IMI educators and researchers aim to support the production and consumption of responsible public affairs journalism and other media content that helps meet the information needs of our communities.
