
Mandy Kirkham joined the faculty at Boise State University in 2025. Prior to that, Dr. Kirkham was an Associate Professor at Weber State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in sport pedagogy and a cognate in sport psychology from the University of Utah. She also holds a Master of Science in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science with a teaching certificate from Brigham Young University–Hawaii.
Dr. Kirkham has over a decade of experience teaching physical education in public, private, and charter schools. Her research focuses on promoting physical activity among children both at home and in school, as well as enhancing the quality and effectiveness of physical education instruction.
Outside of her academic work, she enjoys spending time with her family doing outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, fishing, and rockhounding, as well as participating in various sports.
