The Makerlab is looking to the future and showcasing individuals right in our own backyard who are creating history. We are here to celebrate our fellow makers, and want to highlight some individuals who are uplifting our local community!

  • Cherie Buckner-Webb

    Former Idaho State Senator

    Cherie Buckner-Webb has long been an inspiration for the MakerLab. Buckner-Webb served in both the Idaho House of Representatives and the Idaho Senate for 10 years. She is a founder behind the Idaho Black History Museum, the vice president on the Women’s and Children’s Alliance board, on the board for the Northwest Area Foundation, and is the Vice Chair on CWI’s board of directors.

  • Dr. Mamie Oliver

    Professor and Author

    The website Mountain View Community Fellowship writes that, “Dr. Oliver has been recognized as a Distinguished Citizen of the Idaho Statesman, and honored by the Boise March of Dimes as one of the ten Outstanding Women in Idaho.  She has received the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Services Benefiting Local Communities by the American Institute for Public Services.”

  • Rabiou Manzo

    Global Gardens Program Manager

    Rabiou Manzo has worked for the International Rescue Committee, as a Healing and Rebuilding Our Communities facilitator, an adjunct Boise State University Professor, and is currently the Program Manager at Global Gardens. Global Gardens provides farmers from diverse backgrounds access to land and training in order to help them succeed in Idaho.
