Eric Martin, associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, appeared on Channel 6 News to discuss student athletes using meditation to improve their performance, a practice he emphasizes with his students and athletes.
“Athletes who practice mindfulness can see increases in their level of focus, confidence and readiness to perform,” Martin said. “The energy that was being used for worrying can now be reallocated to sports performance. Even just five minutes a day, if done consistently, can have a powerful positive impact.”
