Join Boise State in celebrating Research and Creative Activity Month 2023

Boise State University celebrates research and creative activity every day, but especially during April. During Research and Creative Activity Month, faculty and students have many opportunities to exhibit their research and celebrate the tremendous creativity and ingenuity of the community’s research and scholarly efforts. Join the Boise State community on campus and on social media for a month of exciting events, student stories, and research and creative excellence.

There are many ways to participate.

EXPERIENCE

Mark your calendars and join the campus community at all of the Research and Creative Activity events happening every week in April. There are more than 20 events to inspire.

A sample of this month’s virtual and in-person events include:

  • April 7: Join the Center for Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) for an in-person workshop on Creating Constructive Community Partnerships in the Alumni and Friends Center West Ballroom.
  • April 11: Be wowed by the diversity of research and creative activities exhibited at the Graduate Student Showcase in the SUB Jordan Ballroom.
  • April 14: Zoom in on Lightning Talks: Service-Learning, where researchers and faculty speak on interdisciplinary opportunities and how they overlap and work within the research community.
  • April 18: The Andrus Center will host an in-person environmental conference at the Boise Depot on ‘Re-creating Public Land Recreation’, which will celebrate the popularity of outdoor recreation on public lands and convene a dialogue over how to improve policies and funding, and collaborating across shared recreation spaces.
  • April 21: Watch the virtual Undergraduate Research Showcase student poster fair.
  • April 24: Visit the in-person Undergraduate Research Showcase for student Lightning Talks and Performances, along with a reception honoring student researchers and their mentors.
  • April 27: Join the CAES Energy Policy Institute for a virtual Power Talk on the topic “Idaho Agriculture: Opportunities and Progress with Clean Energy”, co-hosted with the Idaho Chapter of the Clean Tech Alliance.
  • April 28: Listen to the in-person MFA Reading Series presents poets Alli Warren and Brandon Brown. Free and open to the public, the Creative Writing MFA Reading Series invites renowned writers and thinkers to campus each fall and spring.
