Vendor and Contractor Parking

Welcome Vendors and Contractors: Your Parking Guide

Each year, Boise State welcomes many vendors and contractors to campus to help with construction, maintenance, events, and services. To make parking and transportation easy, this page covers everything you need to know—from the types of permits available and where to park, to what to expect when requesting a permit.

🚧 Important notice

Because of the ongoing construction for the new student housing development, the Liberal Arts Lot is closed to all vendors and contractors—it’s not available for any parking arrangements at this time.

Vendor and contractor permits are not valid for Boise State employees or students.

Parking permits for vendors and contractors

All vendors and contractors parking on campus must display a valid parking permit. Permits must be clearly visible at all times and are only valid in designated zones.

Where you can park

Vendor and contractor permits are valid in the following zones:

  • Reserve Lots
  • Commuter Lots
  • Parking Garages
  • Admin Visitor Lots
  • Housing Lots
  • Service Vehicle Stalls
  • Metered Stalls

If your company needs access to a location not listed, include that request in the “Additional Information or Special Notes” section of your request form.

Where you cannot park

  • Liberal Arts Lot (closed for construction)
  • ADA spaces without a valid state-issued disability plate or placard
  • Fire lanes, sidewalks, lawns, or any unmarked areas
  • Departmental reserved stalls (unless assigned)
  • Any Boise State permit area without a valid permit displayed

Vehicle access and delivery guidelines

  • Loading zones are for short-term active loading only
  • Do not block Fire lanes, ADA stalls, or Pedestrian pathways
  • Use flashers if vehicle is temporarily unattended
  • Oversized vehicles or gate access must be coordinated with Parking Services in advance

Requesting a permit: what to expect

Step-by-step process:

  1. Review Boise State Parking Rules and Regulations
  2. Submit your form at least two weeks in advance using the Access and Maintenance Request Form
  3. Our team will review and confirm your request within 5–10 business days. We may follow-up sooner to additional questions related to your request.
  4. Once approved, we’ll confirm parking zones, send next steps, and provide payment information

Please plan ahead: Requests submitted fewer than 10 business days in advance may not be approved in time.

Permit types and pricing

Note for contractors: If you need access to multiple parking zones, please request a Vendor Permit.

Laydown areas

For some construction projects, designated laydown areas can be assigned to support staging, material storage, or limited on-site parking.

  • These areas are available at a rate of $15 per space.
  • The area must be fully enclosed—typically with fencing or other secure barriers.
  • Vehicles parked entirely within the designated area do not need a Boise State parking permit.
  • Vehicles outside of the approved enclosure must follow standard parking and permit requirements.

Containment equipment:

  • Contractors are responsible for supplying their own fencing or barriers.
  • Boise State can provide equipment upon request, but availability is limited and provided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Additional charges apply for university-provided equipment, which may not always meet specific project needs.

If a laydown area is needed, be sure to include that and any applicable details on the Access and Maintenance Request Form

Campus safety expectations

While on campus, vendors and contractors must:

  • Follow all posted signs and parking regulations
  • Observe campus speed limits and traffic rules
  • Be respectful and courteous to the campus community

Noncompliance may result in citations or revoked access.
