Student Development Fund

Campus Recreation’s Student Development Fund was established with the sole purpose of providing professional development opportunities for Campus Recreation student employees in order to better serve our students, our members, and our community.

Professional development opportunities for Campus Recreation student employees may include involvement in professional associations such as the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), the International Health, Racquet, and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), and/or the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE); professional certifications and training through American Council on Exercise, American Red Cross, and/or Wilderness Medicine Training Center; as well as attendance at professional recreation workshops and conferences.

“There have been specific professional development opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible for me if it wasn’t for the Student Development Fund. I have been able to attend and present at a conference for outdoor recreation and education professionals, which increased my knowledge and applicable skills. I’m now able to put on my resume that I was a speaker for a major event that services hundreds of professionals in the outdoor industry. This fund has been extremely beneficial for me and I highly encourage other employees to take advantage of it.”
