The Write Class Product Description (NSP-0146 Idaho)

The Standard Site includes all of the following:

  1. University-provided algorithm to account for Sponsor’s available course choices.
  2. University-provided set for students to work through: (i) High School GPA; (ii) Standardized Test Scores; (iii) Reading and Writing History Assessment; (iv) Course Description Reflection; (v) Course Assumptions; (vi) External Factors; and a subsequent course placement for students and OPTIONAL (vii) Multilingual Student Survey; (viii) Returning Student Survey; (ix) Accelerated Placement Application; (x) Direct Writing Sample.
  3. University-provided messaging to the student within the system based on Sponsor-specific measures to award course credit. 
  4. Course descriptions and instructor expectations per course provided by Sponsor.
  5. Capability for a student to save their current progress and resume later.
  6. Functionality that will send an email with placement result to the provided address when a student completes an assessment.
  7. Safeguards to prevent users from completing the assessment multiple times.
  8. An Administrative Panel of students who have completed the Application’s assessment, which will include the following requirements:
    1. By selecting a particular student, Sponsor’s advisors shall be able to review the student’s assessment and the Application’s placement for the student. 
    2. Sponsor’s administrators shall be able to review the student’s assessment and the Application’s placement for the student and shall be able to delete student records in the Application.
    3. Where applicable (see item 9), Sponsor’s administrators shall be able to approve or reject placement results that include materials needing review. 
    4. Sponsor’s advisors and administrators shall be able to save notes to each student’s record on the Application. 
    5. Sponsor’s advisors and administrators shall be able to export the entire completed assessment database as a Microsoft Excel file (i.e., .xlsx). 
    6. Sponsor’s administrators shall be able to add and manage advisors and administrators.
  9. Functionality that will send an email to a designated administrator when a result is generated that requires material to review (standardized test scores; accelerated placement application).
  10. Application hosted on Amazon Web Services.
  11. Authentication of users with Single Sign-on (SSO) using SAML (preferred) or OpenID Connect from Sponsor’s internal systems, including:
    1. Leveraging Sponsor-provided attributes, such as email address, first and last name, student ID number, etc. to minimize the amount of manual entry on behalf of the student or administrator.
    2. Gathering the following credentials via Single Sign-On process: (i) first and last name; (ii) student ID number; and (iii) email address.
    3. Leveraging Sponsor-provided test account to allow logging into Single Sign-On for testing purposes by the developers.
    4. Using a secure web API created by the Sponsor for accessing student records programmatically to enable integrations. Example code for consuming the web API will be provided by Sponsor in a language of their choosing. Using the web API to create an integration will be created and programmed by Sponsor. 
  12. Compatibility with the latest releases of at least the following Web browsers as of each Product Description Effective Date: (i) Microsoft Edge; (ii) Firefox; (iii) Chrome; and (iv) Safari.
  13. Compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”).
  14. Compliance with industry standard for web accessibility and current University policy regarding Information Technology Accessibility.
  15. Compliance with industry standard data security standards and current University policy regarding Information privacy and data security.
  16. Encryption of all data, including backups, at rest and in transit in accordance with University standards.
  17. Compliance with applicable Sponsor brand standards as provided by Sponsor.
  18. Compliance with applicable Sponsor design specifications as described by Sponsor.
