Research and Creative Activity Month is Almost Here!

It’s time again for the SPARC (Showcase for Projects And Research Creativity) Mixer – Health & Resilience Edition. Boise State’s Division of Research and Economic Development, in partnership with the Center for Research and Creative Activity, is accepting applications for Luminary Exhibit ideas that reflect your interpretation of “Health & Resilience.” With our help, these ideas will be transformed into interactive display experiences for the mixer attendees. The event will take place on April 3rd from 4pm – 6pm.

Each one of us is working towards health and resilience in our lives. These are broadly reaching themes that drive much of what we do—whether focused on improving our wellbeing, serving our communities, protecting the planet, or addressing other vital facets of life. This year we ask you to show us how you promote health and build resilience through your research and creative activity at the annual Showcase for Projects And Research Creativity (SPARC) Mixer at the Stein Luminary. If you or your colleagues are currently engaged in research related to these themes, we encourage you to apply!

Application Details:

We are now accepting applications through February 7th, 2025.
The review committee will make final decisions on featured exhibits, including which applicants move forward, the number of screens for their exhibit, and the presentation time by February 12th, 2025. Expect a follow-up email on this date.

You can find the application here.

Fine details:

Exhibits will showcase research and creative activity that is currently underway. How can you interpret your work into the theme: Health & Resilience?

Initial exhibits will showcase researchers who are working individually. Each exhibit will take up a whole wall within the Luminary.

Later exhibits will be collaborative. Is your research and creative activity project working with colleagues across campus? We’d love to showcase this collaboration.

All applicants are welcome to apply to one or both of the exhibit opportunities.

We’re excited about the opportunity to showcase your research and creative activity.

Good luck!
