OIT’s Web Team Creates Custom Applications for Contact Tracing and Enhances Campus Experience with Innovative Features
The Office of Information Technology’s Web Team partnered with Senior Public Health Officer Maureen Welcker and Special Assistant to the Provost Jim Munger to develop an innovative contact tracing application. The team created tailored solutions, such as communication dashboards and custom applications, when off-the-shelf solutions were not available.
Additionally, OIT’s Web Development Team has made several innovative enhancements to the new version of myBoiseState, including a unified calendar that combines four different calendars into one user experience. This feature, inspired by Boise State students, aims to reduce the administrative tasks of being a student by decreasing the number of sources required to check for important deadlines. Engaging in Participatory Design sessions with students in the Graphic Design department, the Web Development Team created this feature and showcased the potential for collaboration to enhance the campus experience.
