Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Zeynep Hansen assumed the role of interim provost in July 2025. Dr. Hansen has served as vice provost for academic planning and institutional effectiveness since 2019. In her role as vice provost, she has served as a liaison with the Idaho State Board of Education and accreditation liaison officer with the Northwest Commission on Universities and Colleges.

She joined Boise State in 2007 and has previously served as an associate dean in the College of Business and Economics, chair of the Department of Economics, a professor of economics, and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Dr. Hansen earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from Boise State, a Master’s and a Ph.D. in economics from University of Arizona.
