2021-22 Graduating Student Survey Results Released

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) has released the results of the 2021-22 Graduating Student Survey (GSS) via an interactive dashboard on their website. Multi-year trends in satisfaction also are available in an adjacent dashboard.

IE administers the survey twice each year, in November for summer and fall graduates, and in April for spring graduates. The survey asks students to share perceptions of their experiences, activities, satisfaction, and after-college plans. Results can be viewed by college, department, major (when available), degree level (graduate or undergraduate), and program type (online or campus-based). Data are masked where fewer than five graduates were surveyed in any given program or department.

Enhancements to the GSS and dashboard presentation include:

  • Modified career preparation questions better aligned to the University’s strategic plan and initiatives
  • Aggregation options allowing users to view Likert-type responses in an aggregate format where appropriate
  • Improved accessibility through screen reader enhancements, an updated color palette, and contrast ratios
  • More detailed response rates for specific majors within a department, along with color-coding for online vs. campus-based programs

In addition to the quantitative items on the survey, the GSS includes a number of open-ended questions. These comments are processed and sent to department chairs directly. We anticipate comment distribution to be completed by September 20.

Additional details about the GSS, including a copy of the 2021-22 survey instrument and links to the prior year’s data are available on the IE website.
