Group Campus Visits

Showing students early on how higher education can open up doors is a critical step in helping them prepare for their journey to college, so Boise State University is delighted to host special group tours on campus. Groups may receive a presentation by an enrollment counselor and a guided tour led by our student ambassadors.

Schedule your Group Visit

The Boise State Admissions Office is excited to host future Broncos on an interactive campus tour!

We are eager to get you on campus and to showcase the amazing things Boise State University has to offer. In order to best serve the needs of your group, we ask that you request a group visit two (2) weeks in advance.  Please note that our dates are nearly full and we’re close to reaching capacity for the remainder of the Spring 2023 semester.  However, we are still offering self guided tours for groups which can be found in the links on this page.

Make Your Visit a Success!

You can lay the foundation early for a successful group tour by preparing your students in advance for the visit. Challenge them to be prepared with questions for the admissions counselor and student tour guides. Our tour guides are current Boise State students who love showing the campus to visitors and get excited sharing their own college experience with prospective students. Please review our tips for planning and FAQs before making your reservation.

TIPS FOR ENSURING A SUCCESSFUL VISIT:

  • Plan ahead. We request two (2) week’s notice to process your request for a visit and send your confirmation. A confirmation email will be sent from groupvisits@boisestate.edu once your request is received and reviewed.
  • Check available dates. Group visits will not be scheduled on weekends or major holidays.
  • Get an accurate headcount for your group. Weekday group sizes are capped at 75 and select Fridays are capped at 120, but we ask that high school groups have one (1) chaperone for every twenty (20) students and elementary or middle school groups have one (1) chaperone for every fifteen (15) students.
  • Please arrive on time. Allow yourself ample time to arrive on campus. Groups will be notified on where to meet in their confirmation email. Additionally, if groups arrive twenty (20) minutes after the scheduled start time, the visit will be cancelled.
  • Stay together. Teachers/chaperones must stay with their assigned group throughout the campus visit. The chaperones are responsible for monitoring the group and ensuring that individuals behave.
  • Be considerate. Please discuss with your students the importance of being quiet and respectful during the presentations, and promoting positive behavior while on tour.
  • Need to request a change? Schedule changes made within one (1) week of your visit date cannot be guaranteed, but we’ll do our best to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances that may affect your group visit.
  • Need to cancel? If conflicts arise and you are unable to attend your visit, please contact us as soon as possible.

Yes! We are so excited to welcome you back to campus for Group Visit programming.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY GROUP VISIT?

To allow us time to plan for you, please schedule your visit at least two (2) weeks in advance. In order to schedule your visit, please use the registration links on this page.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL VISIT INCLUDE?

Depending on availability, high school group visits include an optional 30 minute information session, followed by a 90 minute tour of campus. For our elementary and middle school groups, we offer an interactive scavenger hunt around campus, approximately 90 minutes total. On select Fridays, we offer a chemistry show led by one of our well known instructors for our elementary and middle school groups; this visit is approximately two (2) hours.

WHO GIVES THE TOUR?

Our Group Visits are hosted by our Bronco Ambassadors – our volunteer student tour guides who are able to share the uses of University buildings, inform you about fun, historic university traditions, and provide their own views and perspectives of the Boise State student experience.

HOW WILL MY TOUR RESERVATIONS BE CONFIRMED?

You will receive a confirmation email when you provide a valid email address to us when scheduling your tour. (Be sure to add groupvisits@boisestate.edu to your contacts to avoid having our emails to you being blocked by spam blockers.) This email contains very important information about your visit.
