The Bachelor of Applied Science is designed to leverage your technical associate degree (Associate of Applied Science), Intermediate Technical Certificate (ITC), Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC) or other college credits to earn your bachelor’s degree.
Choose from a variety of concentrations and emphasis areas to create a meaningful, individualized degree plan that advances your career. You will learn in a supportive academic environment, either by taking classes 100% online or in a combination of online and on campus.

The application deadline for the second summer seven-week session has passed. Apply now to start classes in July.
The Bachelor of Applied Science features seven-week courses and six start dates a year. All application materials must be received by the deadline to be considered for the program. You must apply separately for admission to Boise State University.
Bring Your Experience With You
Each Bachelor of Applied Science student brings experience when they start their path at Boise State. Our goal is to build on your education and experience to help you get ahead instead of feeling like you are starting from scratch.
Transferring credits from an Associate of Applied Science (AAS), Intermediate Technical Certificate or Advanced Technical Certificate is required to be admitted to this program. If you need additional foundational credits, the Online Degree Pathway can help you get started.
Community College Partnerships
Boise State’s applied science and interdisciplinary professional studies programs have partnered with community colleges across Idaho to help you transfer up to 80 general and technical education credits.
AAS and Technical Credits
Your Associate of Applied Science (AAS), Intermediate Technical Certificates and Advanced Technical Certificates can help you earn your bachelor’s degree. Talk with a student success coach to learn how this degree leverages your hard work.
Credit for Prior Learning
Not all learning happens in the classroom, and we believe that your experiences through work, volunteering and life have the potential to count toward your degree. Create a portfolio that showcases your learning and earn credits to save time and money.

Choose between two options to customize your Bachelor of Applied Science degree:
- Create an individualized degree plan and choose one or more concentrations to match your interests.
- Choose an emphasis area in cyber operations essentials, early childhood education or project management. Emphasis areas are only available for students taking classes 100% online.
