Teachers Court

Dedication Ceremony, July 21, 1989

Teachers Court is a garden located between Boise State Library and Hemingway Western Studies Center. It was funded by the Wally Byam Caravan Club (12,000 members) who donated $10,000 to build a garden in honor of the Year of the Teacher in 1986. The garden was completed with help of an additional $5,000 donated by the class of 1987 and the Associated Students of Boise State. There was a dedication ceremony on July 21, 1989. Wally Byam Caravan Club donated money as a thank you to Boise State for letting them park their airstreams on campus during their international Wally Byam Caravan Club Rally in 1986 (a gathering of over 3,600 airstreams parked at the Fairgrounds and Boise State campus). There is a plaque in the garden that reads, “Presented to Boise State University by the Wally Byam Caravan Club International in recognition of friendship and teaching”.
