Giving Guidelines
Collection Development Strategy
Special Collections and Archives builds collections based on existing strengths and identifies opportunities for growth as determined by research interest and anticipated future significance to support the mission of Boise State University. The primary focus is documenting the experiences, contributions, people, organizations, and events regarding the history and culture of Idaho. Collections may expand beyond Idaho as a topic when a person or organization based in Idaho makes significant contributions to regional, national, or international history and culture. It is our responsibility to broaden the traditions and voices represented in the collections to build a more complete human record, therefore we actively seek materials that reflect a variety of perspectives, beliefs, ideas, communities, values, experiences, and topics.
