Event Planning Champion
Overview
The Event Planning Champion will work on planning and hosting events that will invite girls and their families to join the Girl Scout movement. These events may include virtual or in person opportunities. The candidate will positively impact girls lives in our community through offering opportunities to learn more and join Girl Scouts.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Learn and understand the mission and benefits of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to encourage prospective members to join Girl Scouts.
- Plan one to three events in the Treasure Valley area that give girls and their families the opportunity to experience a true Girl Scout experience.
- Introduce the Girl Scout leadership opportunities to new girls and new adults within the community and create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Increase visibility of Girl Scouts in the community by engaging girls and families at Back-to-School Nights, Kindergarten registration, and other promotional community and program activities to recruit new Girl Scouts.
- Cultivate relationships and develop rapport with community organizations and resources to further promote Girl Scout membership opportunities.
- Responsible for entering leads (names of people interested in Girl Scouts) accurately and promptly into an online database.

Overview
The Data & Digital Media Coordinator supports the Operations Manager create data infrastructure for the organization to support data tracking and analysis and to inform needed program changes. This student will also conduct research to guide Jesse Tree’s program development on other innovative nonprofits and partnerships around the country to ensure Jesse Tree is complying with best practices in preventing eviction and homelessness, and maintain the Jesse Tree website to ensure it is user friendly, appeals to all audiences we serve and is on the cutting edge of technology and design.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
The Data & Digital Media Coordinator will support the Operations Manager in building data infrastructure and conducting research for the organization, and helping keep the organization’s website up-to-date with data and any other needed updates to ensure the website is client-friendly and trauma-informed.

Overview
The Development intern will assist the Development and Marketing team with a variety of duties and projects that further the Idaho State Historical Society’s mission to preserve and promote Idaho history.
Opportunity/Project Duties:

Overview
FARE Idaho is seeking a Work U student to work with our team on special events, web updates and data-based projects in our customer relationship management (CRM) database. A scholarship may be available for this position.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Attend all FARE Field to Fork meetings (Some flexibility with meeting times).
- Coordinate event tasks

City of Boise Parks & Recreation
Youth Recreation Attendant/Mentor
Overview
Parks and Recreation is seeking a highly energetic, well organized person to implement a variety of hands on science and reading club activities in our wildly popular after school programs. Kid City is run by Boise Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Boise School District. We are free to children and provide a variety of supervised recreational games, arts and crafts, homework help etc. as well as provide a free supper each day Monday – Friday from 3:15 – 6:00pm. It is a fun and safe place for kids to be after school. We are located at Title One schools within Boise where the majority of the families are at or below poverty level and we work with a lot of under served kids from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. It is valuable experience for any intern studying to be a teacher, social worker or any career involving support of kids and families.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
The Work U intern would be in charge of enhancing existing programs by planning and implementing engaging activities and networking with community agencies to bring in activities. It would require 2 to 3 days at the center during after school hours directly working with the kids.

We work to focus on absentee, after school extra-curricular activities, and parenting classes.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
Our Family Community Resource Centers at Nampa School District go beyond just basic needs for students, families, and community members. Assistant HUB Coordinator
Overview
The Marsing School District is seeking a highly motivated Work U student for an internship as an Assistant Coordinator to serve in our community school resource center called The HUB. This individual will work collaboratively with The HUB coordinator to help operate the HUB facility. This experience will help Work U students understand the diversity and overall holistic need of families in a rural community.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
Coordinators in a school resource center create, strengthen, and maintain the bridge between the school and community. Interns in this position will have the opportunity to observe and participate in activities and events that provide services to families in need in the community. Interns will learn how the HUB Coordinator facilitates and provides leadership for the collaborative process and develops a continuum of services for
children, families, and community members within a school setting. This internship will allow for flexible hours coordinated through the HUB Coordinator. This experience will be a powerful opportunity to better understand the diverse needs of families in a rural community while having the opportunity to interact with partner service agencies.
The successful Work U student will be:
- Identify and recruit people and organizations willing to offer programs and services for students and families at the school or to assist with operations
- Help negotiate agreements with people and organizations who provide services
- Work with the HUB Coordinator and Superintendent to determine hours of operation, security and other needs

Valley Regional Transit
Transit Asset Data Manager
Overview
Valley Regional Transit (VRT), the Regional Transit Authority for Ada and Canyon counties, is seeking a highly creative and motivated Work U student for our Bus Stop Asset Tracking Project in our Development Department. Adequate infrastructure at bus stops is an important part of making a transit system attractive and useful. In this project, you will help advance transit in the Treasure Valley by creating an asset tracking database to compliment the Mast Bus Stop List. The asset tracking database will not only be a critical piece of information for VRT’s capital planning but will also improve the information available to the public. By cataloguing, photographing and geo-locating transit stops and the associated amenities this project will make it easier for the public to know where to catch the bus, where they can park their bicycle and which stops have amenities such as benches and shelters.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Utilizing app based geo-locating technology to confirm latitude and longitude of existing physical stops and the presence and condition of amenities.
- Photographing stops and associated amenities
- Developing asset ID number format
- Assigning transit amenities asset ID numbers

Opportunity/Project Duties:

Procurement Externship
Overview
We are looking for an extern to assist the J. R. Simplot Company’s Global Procurement Department with data and analysis responsibilities.
This externship will provide the student opportunity to learn the significance of supplier segmentation and contract information and how to navigate an e-procurement platform.
The individual will work with the Procurement leaders at Corporate Headquarters Office in a hybrid model.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Review and analyze procurement contracts data from various Simplot locations
- Analyzing and classifying suppliers using Excel and e-procurement/ERP systems

Overview
At The Grove Hotel, the ideal candidate will have interest to work in the capacity of digital marketing, social media marketing, loyalty/CRM marketing and other related technologies in the digital space. The goal in this field will be to gain experience in a hospitality and marketing setting for the marketing, acquisition and retention of guest & customer loyalty through paid (PPC, remarketing), organic, social platforms, loyalty programming and understanding of consumer behaviors to influence strategy making.

Harm Reduction Assistant
Overview
In collaboration with the Executive Director and Program Managers, interns are encouraged to develop their own projects based on their interests and skill sets within the realm of harm reduction.
Examples:
Public Health intern created health education materials specific to fentanyl test strips, narcan/naloxone administration, and wound care.
Social Work intern developed the homeless outreach program, including policies, procedures and data collection forms.

Overview
St. Luke’s Health System – Support Services supports the St. Luke’s Food and Nutrition, Environmental Services, Patient Transport and Central Laundry departments in the health system. This department is a new department, established in January 2022, with the charter of onboarding resources staffing for deployment in support services areas. The candidate will be working on various opportunities, including projects, to identify data collection for employee retention, satisfaction, employee onboarding and training and leadership training opportunities.
Candidates will be actively involved in streamlining current processes, through technology and identified opportunities.

Communications and Marketing Intern
Overview
The Idaho Out-of-School Network’s mission is to ensure Idaho’s youth have access to high quality out-of-school (OST) programs. The research on OST programs reveals that youth consistently enrolled in quality programs perform better academically, have better school attendance, adapt better socially, and are more likely to graduate from high school and go-on to higher learning. The Idaho Out-of-School Network is the only program of its kind in Idaho, though all 50 states have launched similar programs. The Idaho Out-of-School Network does not directly offer out-of-school programs; the focus is to advocate and promote the benefits of out-of-school programming, help connect families and youth to a program and support providers with resources and training to enrich and expand their programming and services.

Overview
The Meridian Library District is seeking a detail-oriented Work U student to collaborate with our Foundation Manager on a year-end appeal campaign by helping design and produce materials & create coordinating social media content. You will also help identify potential donors using a public database.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Collaborating with Foundation staff to create promotional materials for a year-end letter appeal campaign.
- Taking photos and creating coordinating social media content for the Meridian Library Foundation’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Nextdoor networks.

Overview
The Property Reservation System Champion will work directly with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and resources Girl Scouts of Silver Sage to build reservation system and help roll out.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Review existing rates, tiers, policies for Girl of Silver Sage Properties.
- Conduct market research of other comparable properties reservation systems to evaluate rates, market presence, curb appeal, additional options (concierge services) ease of use of software, etc.

The Volunteer Services Experience will immerse students interested in volunteer administration in a robust, fast-paced, and supported volunteer program at the World Center for Birds of Prey. In addition to the experience, students will receive some gear as well as free admission to our Interpretive Center and a discount in our Gift Shop during their semester.

The Special Events Intern will work directly with our Special Events Coordinator to effectively plan, execute, and support multiple fundraising events and campaigns throughout the state. Additional program support may be required.

The responsibilities of the HR staff range from staffing, disciplines, payroll, onboarding, and managing policies and procedures.

Event Planning and Community Engagement Intern
Overview
Urban Land Institute (ULI) Idaho is seeking an intern to assist in the planning and execution of several fall events.
In this project, you would assist the Executive Director and committee members with event planning, coordination throughout, marketing and support through the conclusion of the event. This may include conducting research to identify potential topics and speakers, coordinating logistics and event details with community partners and vendors, preparing and implementing communications and marketing plans and tasks, and assisting with event execution when possible.

In this project, you will help transform a text-dense informational brochure that law enforcement provides at the scene of traumatic incidents which is intended to let victims know where to go to get help. The information needs to be clear, easy to read, and allow victims experiencing trauma to determine easily where to get the help they need. In addition, we are seeking improved design for a variety of materials where conveying critical information in a simple way is vital.

- Brochure design: law enforcement handout to victims of domestic violence or sexual assault which includes information on where they can get help/access services

Our Athletic Department is seeking students who are interested in learning about the behind-the-scenes operations of collegiate athletics events. They will have the opportunity to assist our events/facilities team with Boise State varsity sporting events and outside rentals. Our department has a goal to provide the best customer service to our teams and spectators attending our sporting events.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Work side by side with event managers at Football, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, and other home varsity events
- Assist with set-up/breakdown of varsity athletic events and outside rentals
- Assist Stueckle Sky Center Facility Specialist with room set-ups and cleaning tasks.

The Idaho Black Community Alliance is a brand new nonprofit organized for the promotion and preservation of the African American culture and community. This new outreach position is the first steps in working with CEO/Founder, Trish Walker to begin a statewide engagement of Idaho black business owners in an effort to identify, engage, and assess needed technical assistance, education and training. This is part of a statewide initiative called Idaho Connect. Idaho Connect is a collaborative effort with many of the states organizations who serve the under-served and under resourced.

Overview
PlayOn Game Marketing is a global agency that provides video game developers, publishers, and branded online communities with content marketing, social media management, creative services, and representation. The person in this position will work across all aspects of the company in conjunction with online learning opportunities. Successful interns will finish the program with recognized certifications (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Business, etc) and a portfolio of work samples as well as case studies of experience in project and account management.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
Working with the business development team to identify leads and opportunities then shadow games through campaigns from start to finish. Interns will occasionally test and rate games, create and manage both internal and client social media posts, beginning graphic design (Canva, etc), writing content such as blogs, and co-manage/apprentice on accounts for small campaigns. Some project management.

Work U Students are expected to attend social skills groups comprised of teens, young adults, and/or preteens on the Autism spectrum, with social anxiety, or other mild neurocognitive/developmental disorders.
- Work U Students are expected to participate in group via facilitation, providing examples, managing behaviors, and/or data collection.
- Must be available in the evening a minimum of twice per week for at least 1.5 hours (between 4:30 and 7:30pm). Work U Students will attend multiple groups per week and additional trainings based on availability and agreed upon schedule.
- SBI provides medical treatments; therefore, all services must be HIPAA compliant. Work U Students must be mindful of maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
- Social skills group participation may be remote (via Telehealth). If Work U students do not have a device that supports Zoom, they may be required to come to the SBI office in Boise to use a device provided by SBI.
The successful Work U student will be:
- Passionate about helping others
- Organized, punctual, and adaptable
- Interested in working with the population (adolescents and young adults)
- Have experience or educational background in psychology, education, behavior analysis, human development, or related fields
- Have experience working with adolescents and/or young adults (preferred)

Veteran Entrepreneur Outreach Assistant
Overview
The goal of the Veteran Alliance Outreach Assistant is to work along side Alliance Director in the launch of Idaho Connect, a statewide initiative and federal grant facilitated by the Idaho Women’s Business Center, to identify, engage and assist veteran entrepreneurs. It is a strategic approach to engage with our network of veteran men and women small business owners and assess disparities and barriers and how we can educate them on how to learn the basic pillars of business. Funding and marketing have been the top 2 issues faced during the pandemic for veteran small business owners. This project aims to bring additional awareness in identifying those who need support.
Opportunity/Project Duties:
- Working side by side with Alliance Director to identify which veteran small business owners need the most help.
- Engaging via in-person and virtual to interview our clients and assess their social media presence and how the VEA might best educate.
- Help apply for access to capital via online portals.
- You will get to help first hand with clients to set up Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. and set up their products in the new e-commerce marketplace on the IWBC website.
- Capture data of the efforts of assisting our clients to be found online and increase in sales and positively impact the Idaho economy.
The successful Work U student will be:
- Good listener with a desire to learn about veteran-owned business and needs.
- Have social media experience in regards to the initial set up and execution of posts, videos and content procurement.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment working with multiple clients and managing time with each client.
- Willingness to report time and data for each client encounter for the SBA federal grant requirement under the program and guidelines of the Idaho Women Business Center who will oversee the Idaho Connect Program of the SBA.
