The efforts of Spanish and Portuguese language coordinator Fátima Cornwall were recently acknowledged by the oldest Portuguese newspaper published in the United States, The Portuguese Tribune. The newspaper gave an honorable mention to Boise State University as part of their “Best of 2015” awards. Under the category Education Event of the Year, the paper applauded the efforts of “Boise State University’s Portuguese classes for promoting the Portuguese language and culture in Idaho, an important migration destination for Portuguese-Americans.” You can see their comments on page 17 of the newspaper’s.
