April 15-16, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the inner workings of the Idaho Dance Theatre with a new performance that begins with a video showing behind-the-scenes shots of the theatre’s creative process and culminates in live performances of solos, duets and more.

The performances each will take place at 8 p.m. in the Special Events Center. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $10 for military, Boise State faculty and staff, and as a special treat, Boise State students will get in free with ID. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door only. Box office opens at 7 p.m.

Enjoy the power of the pas de deux with three unique duets choreographed by artistic director Marla Hansen ranging in style from jazzy to passionate, touching to comedic. Yurek Hansen will present a new work of intricate interlacing solos featuring the entire company. Evan Stevens will present his first work for Idaho Dance Theatre, a comedic duet for two women, and Gonzalo Valdez will present a trio to percussion music featuring himself with Sayoko Knode and Yurek Hansen.

The performance will finish with Hansen’s popular “Love Hurts” performed to the music of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. This work explores love from our comical infatuation with rock stars to the pain and isolation we experience when love goes bad.

For more information, call Marla Hansen at 331-9592 or 426-3568.
