Marketing 424 Category Management
Students connect every week with people from Albertsons, the enormous supermarket chain, and SMART, a global provider of category management services. Make decisions on which products will be on the shelf at retail stores by analyzing shopper data and study consumer behavior to make big decisions…decisions that ultimately drive the profitability of big retailers like Albertsons. Albertsons and SMART will provide the real-time shopper data that you’ll analyze and make suggestions to present to Albertsons and SMARTeam representatives.
We are very excited about this class because Boise is home to a number of large retailers, it is one of the largest Category Management hubs in the country. It offers a golden opportunity to get into a fast growing and increasingly important industry. So…if you are not afraid of data, need an upper-division marketing elective, and want first hand experience with a multibillion-dollar industry, we encourage you to enroll.
