Porvair Filtration Group is a manufacturer of high purity gas filters offered in a variety of sizes. They tasked the team to improve their filter quality control and testing process, with a testing fixture that will prevent damage to the filter housing and reduce overall testing time. The fixture must be designed to quickly and easily fixture a variety of filter sizes. Additionally, the design must integrate effectively into Porvair’s existing equipment and testing workflow. The team fabricated the testing fixture from off-the-shelf components along with several custom machined pieces. The resulting device is an effective, durable, and an easy-to-use securement system that will be used to ensure quality filters for various technical applications.
