Transfer Students

Overview

No matter where your path began, we are excited to welcome you to the College of Engineering family! Now that you are almost officially a Bronco, let us help you find the perfect College of Engineering program for you. COEN offers undergraduate programs in civil, electrical and computer, materials science, and mechanical and biomedical engineering, computer science, and construction management. We believe in providing our students with amazing opportunities to do research, work on actual design projects, and participate in internships that provide the opportunity to be involved in practical work experience in business, industry, and government.

How to Apply

If you started your academic journey at another college or university, it’s never too late to finish strong at the College of Engineering!

Our transfer students must meet the university transfer admission requirements. Transfer students who have completed 14 or more transferable semester credits must hold a 2.25 cumulative GPA for all course work completed, and are in good academic standing at the current/last institution you attended OR have earned an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited academic institution, and have a cumulative 2.00 GPA or higher.

The application gives further instructions on how to apply. Application requirements include:

  • 2.25 cumulative GPA
  • Nonrefundable Application Fee or App Fee Waiver
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended (including coursework completed in high school)

Visit Boise State’s new student resources page to find out more.

Advising

When you are admitted to Boise State University you are given a date and time to attend an Orientation, Advising, and Registration program. This date is also your enrollment appointment day and time. You will be allowed to register on BroncoWeb between that time and the deadline for registration for the semester. We encourage all students to attend Orientation in person, we also understand that there may be schedule conflicts. You are now able to access online much of the same information given during in-person, on-campus orientation.

New transfer students are required to meet with an academic advisor. Unsure who your advisor is? Find information on the COEN Advising page.
