    • Speech, Debate and Journalism programs created
  • 1940’s
    • Amateur radio created
    • Humanities Division creates Speech and Journalism programs
  • 1950’s
    • Formalized curriculum in public speaking, speech arts, forensics, broadcast.
  • 1960’s
    • Vocational/technical school offers human relations class.
    • Theatre parts department offers a speech communication degree
    • KBSU becomes “voice of the Broncos”
  • 1970’s
    • Department Communication Arts joins the School of Arts and Sciences
    • KAID Television Studios established at the Library Learning Center
  • 1980’s
    • Department moves to Communication Building
  • 1990’s
    • Created Masters in Communication
  • 2000’s
    • Created Organizational emphasis
    • Created Public Relations emphasis and certificate
    • Created Digital Media certificate
  • 2010’s
    • Renamed Department Communication and Media
    • Created Studio360 as multi camera production studio
