Biography
Dr. Schmidt currently teaches remotely from Boulder, CO and has taught Family Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Oral Communication at BSU. She has a B.S. in Business from San Diego State, an M.A. in Communication from Washington State University and received her Interdisciplinary PhD in Communication, Psychology, and Education from Washington State University.
After receiving her doctorate, Dr. Schmidt worked as an Assistant Professor at Gonzaga University where she taught a range of communication classes including public speaking, organizational communication, small group communication, interpersonal communication, training and consulting, research methods, and more.
In between degrees, Dr. Schmidt worked as a Business Consultant for Accenture, directed the McNair Achievement Program at Washington State University, started a non-profit focused on family volunteerism, and served as Executive Director for The Well Life Foundation empowering disadvantaged women to pursue their dreams of owning a business.
She loves to kayak, hike, practice Yoga, and travel with her family.
