The Collegiate Esports Comissioners Cup is run as part of EsportsU, a product of the Collegiate Sports Management Group. This isn’t the first time Boise State has been familiar with EsportsU. The Bronco’s previously attended last years CECC nationals tournament at Atlanta in Fall 2022. EsportsU also named Doc Haskell Collegiate Director of the Year that same semester. This upcoming event will be a major showcase of the Boise State Esports arena since it’s winter renovation.

As for the specifics about the tournament itself, Boise State finished 2nd overall in Overwatch and was one of the top 8 teams in Valorant. University of California, San Diego claimed the top spot for Overwatch and will prove to be a tough match for the Broncos during the in-person event. The LAN event will also have Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Rocket League as part of its competitive line up. Top teams will qualify for the CECC Nationals taking place later this year in Arlington, TX.
