  • Alison Radcliffe portrait

    Alison Radcliffe, PhD

    Clinical Psychologist

    Alison earned a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. As part of her graduate work, she completed an internship in Health Psychology with Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. She believes that therapy is an opportunity for individuals to learn and apply a variety of tools to help manage major stressors as well as day to day events. Alison sees herself as a coach or mentor, working with clients to fine tune the skills they need to make their world a place where they are able to feel comfortable. She spends her free time with family, friends, and enjoys volunteering in the community.

    Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Amy is a graduate of Boise State University, majoring in social work for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She has been practicing in the mental health field in Boise for over 20 years. Amy’s approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, generalist Social Work practice, strengths perspective, and person-centered care.     Ayako Otani, LCPC

    Clinical Coordinator/Counselor

    Ayako is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC). After moving to the United States from Japan for college, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Boise State University and Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University. Before joining the Boise State counseling services, she has worked in community counseling agencies and had her own private practice. Ayako’s clinical interests include depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, cultural issues, self-worth, and LGBTQ+ issues. Her counseling approach is person-centered which emphasizes the importance in the relationship between the counselor and client in order to facilitate healing, growth, and change. Ayako is an EMDR trained, LGBTQ affirming counselor. In her free time Ayako likes to eat, hike, do yoga, explore new places and things, watch too much TV, and spend time with friends and family.

  • Brian Davies, LCPC

    Counselor

    Brian studied psychology at The College of Idaho as an undergraduate, and in 2014 received his master’s in mental health counseling at Idaho State University. He joined the Health Services team at Boise State in 2020 after counseling at The College of Idaho’s health center for five years. Brian’s counseling approach is nondirective, draws primarily from person-centered and Gestalt therapy modalities, and emphasizes acceptance, awareness, and authentic connection between therapist and client. As a counselor, Brian is especially interested in grief/loss, trauma, sexuality, identity, self-esteem, boundaries, relationships, anger, assertiveness, cultural integration, and confidence & performance issues. He is an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor and is EMDR-trained. In his free time, Brian enjoys being active and outdoors, playing guitar, writing, creating, learning, and connecting with friends and family.

    Cara Van Valkenburg

    Promotions Coordinator

    Cara received her Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Boise State University in 2014.  During her sophomore year, she became a promotions intern at University Health Services and has been a part of the promotions and marketing team ever since. Cara is responsible for the graphic design and promotion of all items housed under University Health Services. Her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to be creative and work on a variety of projects daily. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, cooking, and thrift shopping.

  • Christie Valentino-Sundy

    Predoctoral Psychology Intern

    Christie is a Predoctoral Psychology Intern with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gannon University. She has completed her master’s degree in psychology, and is currently working towards her doctorate in clinical psychology at Medaille College. Her experience has been primarily in school settings and community mental health clinics. Christie’s clinical interests are psychotherapy with the high school and college-aged population, focusing on anxiety, ADHD, depression, and personality disorders. Her approach draws from person-centered care, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and biopsychosocial models. In her free time, Christie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching the Buffalo Bills, and participating in a number of sporting activities.

    Christy is currently working on completing her Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Management with an emphasis on Cybersecurity and a minor in Psychology and Criminal Justice at Boise State University. She has eight years of experience working in customer service with a variety of different businesses.  Throughout these jobs, her focus was on the customer and providing them with an excellent experience. Christy joined University Health Services in the fall of 2015, and her job includes medical record management as well as being an assistant to the Director of Business Operations. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with all the patients that visit University Health Services. Christy loves paddle boarding, reading, and spending her free time with her family, friends, and dog.

  • Corina Sanchez, LPC

    Licensed Professional Counselor

    Corina is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She grew up in Idaho but completed her bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. After teaching for a few years, she went on to complete her master’s degree in counseling from Boise State University. Corina’s approach to counseling is collaborative and strength-based. She believes in helping client’s cultivate self-awareness, self-efficacy, and the resiliency to find balance in their lives and to develop the needed tools to navigate life’s challenges. Corina’s clinical interests include grief, life transitions, career exploration, self-worth, relationship issues, and anxiety. Corina’s downtime interests include spending time with family, window shopping, coffee tasting, spending time outdoors, traveling and engaging in mindfulness activities.

  • Delainey Jones

    Health Educator, RDN, LD

    Delainey is a Registered Dietitian who attended Idaho State University’s dietetic internship, focusing on community nutrition. She earned her B.S. in Nutrition from Calfornia Polytechnic State University.

    As a Health Educator with the BroncoFit team, Delainey focuses on programming related to nutrition education, food insecurity, the campus garden, and student basic needs. She enjoys working with students to create a nourishing campus environment that encourages creativity and wellbeing.

    In her free time, Delainey loves hiking or snowshoeing in the Idaho wilderness areas with her dogs, working in the garden, baking (eating) sourdough bread, and really just spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors!

    Licensed Social Worker

    Ericka is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who earned a master’s degree in social work from Boise State University. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Idaho. As part of her graduate work, she completed an internship with Interfaith Sanctuary Housing Services and an internship with the Boise School District. Ericka recently joined University Health Services (in the summer of 2019) and values the opportunity to provide counseling/mental health services. She spends her free time on the river/outdoors with friends and family.

She has clinical experience in Family Practice, Urgent Care, Women’s Health, Mental Health, Neurology and more. Heather obtained her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from Boise State University in 2001. She has a strong background in Emergency and Critical Care nursing, with over 12 years of experience in a hospital setting.

    Heather enjoys making meaningful connections with her patients to build strong relationships. Using a holistic approach, she considers emotional and mental health as important as physical health. Heather strives to personalize care by considering specific individual needs. She believes in mentoring and supporting her patients, on their journey toward optimal health.

    Heather grew up near Sun Valley and has a deep appreciation and love for Idaho’s beauty and natural treasures. In her spare time, Heather enjoys time with her family, traveling, hiking and biking.

    Administrative Assistant

    Hunter was born in San Diego and moved to Boise when she was five years old. For 10 years, she was a competitive figure skater. She joined the Health Services team in summer 2018 as a Customer Service Representative and as of April 2021 is now the Administrative Assistant. Hunter recently graduated from Boise State with a Bachelor’s of Public Health and is pursuing her Master’s of Public Health.

    Jerene has an AA Degree in Accounting and a CPC certification (Certified Professional Code/Auditor). She is currently working on completing her BA degree at Boise State University. Jerene has over thirty years’ experience in the medical field. For 21 years she was the Practice Administrator for the Spokane Psychiatric Clinic, and for five years she acted as the Accounting Specialist for a State Health Facility that provided mental health services in four NE Washington counties. In her current role As the Revenue Cycle Coordinator, Jerene’s main focus is on overseeing patient and student accounts and assisting students with any questions they have regarding their health services, charges or insurance questions. For enjoyment, Jerene loves competing at Barrel Racing and attending College Rodeos where her daughter rides for the Boise State team.

  • John Griffiths, BBA

    Business Manager

    John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. John joined Boise State University in 2010 as the Business Manager. In his current role, he is responsible for providing financial vision and support for University Health Services. Prior to joining the team at Boise State University, John held various finance and supply chain positions in the Boise region, most notably with Ore-Ida Foods and Cott Beverage. In his spare time, John enjoys camping, hiking, photography and golf.

  • Julee Huesby

    Licensed Practical Nurse

    Julee received her LPN degree and IV Certification in North Dakota and has 35 years of nursing experience in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She recently moved to Idaho and was lucky enough to obtain a nursing position with Boise State University in Spring of 2016. Julee feels every day is rewarding when you work in health care.  Her favorite aspect of the job is the rewarding feeling she gets when patients come to University Health Services to receive care. She feels it’s a lot of fun to be involved in the lives of the students, faculty and staff at Boise State.  Outside of work Julee enjoys yoga, any outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

    As a seasoned healthcare professional, Julia has worked in organizations that are both public and private, utilizing her expertise and leadership in large hospital systems, private practice, and the university setting. She focuses on building key partnerships across the university and with community stakeholders in pursuit of the College of Health Sciences’ and Health Services’ strategic plan of making Boise State ‘America’s Healthiest Learning Environment.’

    Katelynn Frankamp

    Customer Service Representative

    Katelynn was born and raised in Boise Idaho.  She joined Health Services in the Fall of 2015 and has worked in the Medical/Health field for the last 10 years. Her position includes scheduling patient appointments, remedying patient phone calls and her main focus is providing excellent customer service. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with all patients and assisting to their needs at Health Services. Prior to her position at Boise State, she worked for a local Home Care Agency in the HR department.  In her spare time, Katelynn enjoys spending time with her Fiancé’ and their puppy as well as extended family and traveling as much as she can.

Her favorite aspect of the job is getting to build lasting relationships with each of the students. In her free time, Katie enjoys interacting with her community and spending quality time with family.

    Katie graduated from Mid Plains Community College in Valentine, Nebraska, earning a Licensed Practical Nursing degree in August 2015. She worked in an acute-care hospital in rural Nebraska, caring for a variety of patients; geriatrics, surgical, OB/newborns and ED. She worked in urology, orthopedic and cardiac specialty outpatients clinics, as well. She acquired her phlebotomy and IV training and certification shortly after moving to Boise in July 2018. Katie’s favorite aspect of nursing at BSU Health Services is developing a helpful rapport with the patients and finds it challenging and exciting to work with young students. Katie is passionate about “giving back” which is demonstrated by her activity in her church, her involvement in the Boise community and her great desire to give her time to those in need. She loves biking, trail hiking, boating, and fishing.

    Customer Service Representative

    Mark earned his Associate of Occupational Studies in Medical Specialties degree in 2010 at Stevens-Henager College in Boise, Idaho. Prior to joining Health Services, Mark worked as a Medical Assistant and Patient Service Representative with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.     Director of Counseling Services

    Matt Niece is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and a state registered supervisor. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University, and both a masters of mental health counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and counseling from Idaho State University. Prior to re-joining the team here at University Health Services, Dr. Niece served the communities of Boise, Meridian, and Nampa through work at various counseling agencies. Dr. Niece also maintains a private practice in Boise and has been adjunct for Boise State University, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho, and currently with Idaho State University at the undergraduate and masters level. His clinical interests include working with students, faculty and staff who struggle with anxiety and depressive issues especially in regards to relationships and major life transitions, counseling student-athletes, self-worth, LGBT+ issues, and group therapy. Professionally he is driven to advocate for all clients, the counseling profession and the efficacy of integrated health services. Outside of work one might find him taking advantage of the endless outdoor activities that the Boise Valley has to offer, woodworking, or traveling with his friends and family.

    Family Practice Physician

    Dr. Wolfe graduated with high honors with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Montana in 1998. She then went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. She joined the Montana Family Medicine Residency program in Billings, MT, where she completed her residency training and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Wolfe then joined the United States Air Force, where she served as an active duty physician at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. After leaving active duty, she then joined a multispecialty clinic in Missoula, MT, where she practiced for five years.  Dr. Wolfe joined University Health Services in September of 2013 where her interests include general and procedural medicine, including skin biopsies and lesion removal, toenail removals, and IUD (intrauterine device) placement. In her free time, Dr. Wolfe enjoys spending time with her family and traveling, as well as participating in and watching a variety of different sports.

She received her master’s degree in nursing from DePaul University in Chicago. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Shannon has experience in Family Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Mental Health, and Nursing Academics. Her goal as a clinician is to empower patients to reach their optimal health and wellbeing through education, screening, and health maintenance. She especially enjoys the opportunity to develop patient relationships to promote overall health outcomes. Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and pets, traveling, cooking, sewing, skiing, hiking, boating, and yoga.

    Tracy earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree through Idaho State University’s College of Technology in 2005. Tracy is originally from Southern California and upon graduating moved back to Huntington Beach with her husband. In 2008, Tracy and her husband returned to Idaho to settle in Boise. Tracy worked in areas such as clinical research, corrections, and orthopedics before joining Boise State University in August 2018. Outside of work, Tracy enjoys being a mother to her twin boys, camping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
