What about Defense notification to the History Department? 

We are changing the old practice of putting a copy of the thesis, public history project paper, or portfolio in the history department office.  Now, the supervisory committee chair shall email to HIST-FAC a copy to everyone ALONG WITH the date of the defense.  The file can be a WORD or PDF or even a link to a google doc — it does not matter — as long as each faculty member gets a copy and is made aware of the defense date.
