Can cows hide nesting curlews? One certainly tried during this capture attempt! Upon trying for the male the evening before, the trapping attempt was thwarted due to a cow walking right between the nesting male curlew and the biologists holding the net! But by the next morning, the cow had left the scene and we were able to trap “Bessie”, the female of the same nest, named in honor of her 4-legged friend!
