This female was named by the New Mexico field crew after a very pale female we nicknamed “Blondie” gave us the run around one morning by sticking in an area for a long time as if she had a nest nearby, only to fly over a mile to the east to her actual nesting site: outside of our study area! The bird we ended up trapping instead was “Not Blondie” and she was much more cooperative!
