Post-Graduation Careers
The Neuromechanical Science emphasis develops an understanding of the mechanical principles of human movement in sports and exercise. Students will study physical mechanics to understand how people move and move more effectively, why they sometimes get injured and how to reduce the incidence of injury.
There is additional coursework in physics and engineering. The emphasis prepares students for graduate study in biomechanics, biomedical engineering or ergonomics, which prepares you to:
- Work for companies that manufacture athletic products (i.e., running shoes, sports equipment, prosthetics)
- Serve as a consultant for competitive athletes (help perfect skill technique)
- Serve as a graduate students and research assistant in biomechanical research laboratories.
