Shannon Smith joins Boise State University’s Albertsons Library as Open Educational Resources (OER) Librarian. She holds a Certificate in OER Librarianship from the Open Education Network, and most recently completed the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) Open Education Leadership Program. Shannon has been supporting OER initiatives since 2017.
She previously served as Scholarly Communication Librarian at Utah State University, and has her Master in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington’s Information School.
Shannon believes in the impact of building communities, and views this work as integral for open education to contribute to student success and lifelong learning. Her research interests include best practices and ethics for emerging library services, collaborative learning, and multimedia information behavior.
