Curriculum for students beginning in fall 2024 and beyond
Overview
There are 30 required credits in the RN-BS Curriculum. Completing your bachelor’s degree will provide you with a wide range of advanced nursing competencies. You will earn the academic credentials required to pursue a graduate degree and expand your opportunities for professional development. The courses in the RN-BS curriculum will provide you with a worthwhile academic experience as you advance understanding of health policy, evidence-based practice, resource management and care coordination. In addition, you will enhance your leadership, inter-professional, research, quality, safety, and healthcare technology skills.

Prerequisite Requirement
An eligible 3-credit statistics course must be transferred in or taken during your first semester of enrollment in RN-BS courses. View prerequisite information.

Pre-Licensure Courses

Experiential Learning and Community Engagement
The RN-BS program requires you to be a licensed RN in order to enroll in the post-licensure courses. You must have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state where you plan to implement your projects. In the project courses, you will complete two faculty-mentored clinically based projects.
Project Courses
Focused project courses are designed to positively impact health care as it relates to policies, processes, and or procedures. These projects will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of community and population health and apply leadership skills that are important for your nursing career and continued academic progression.

Students must earn a total of 120 credits to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Boise State. These credits will include the 30 credits earned from the RN-BS curriculum, any credits accepted for transfer, and credits earned for prior learning. For more information, view graduation requirements.
