RN-BS Admission Process

Application Instructions

Thank you for your interest in Boise State! Whether you are a registered nurse or an ADN student looking to start completing courses toward your bachelor’s degree in nursing, we look forward to receiving your RN-BS application.

1. Have you contacted us for an unofficial transcript review? This service is available to you at no cost, and there is no obligation to apply.  If you would like to check on your requirements before applying e-mail your unofficial transcripts to rnbs@boisestate.edu. Once reviewed our Admissions/Retention Advisor will contact you with your personalized review!
2. Submit a Boise State University Application. Make sure to select the ONLINE track and select RNBS for your major! This will ensure you are in the right track!  Within a couple days after your Boise State Application you will hear from your RNBS Admissions Advisor letting you know what is next!
3. Submit your Official Transcripts to Boise State Admissions
4. Once you are fully admitted to Boise State your RNBS Admissions Advisor will contact you via e-mail with the link to the RNBS Online Application.

Transferring to Boise State (Transcript Reviews)

• ADN graduates with an associate of science or arts degree or students who have a previous bachelors degree meet Boise State general education requirements.
• ADN graduates with an associate of applied science degree and Diploma Nurses should request transcript reviews to determine any unmet general education requirements.
• Boise State University accepts all academic credits from regionally accredited institutions.
• The RN-BS program has agreements with several schools that make satisfying prerequisites and transferring credits easy. Learn more about articulation agreements.
• Courses transfer to Boise State on the same level as taken (lower or upper division) at the original institution.
• Quarter credits are converted to semester credits (one quarter credit equals 2/3 of a semester credit).
• The Office of the Registrar at Boise State University retains final decision on transfer credit acceptance.

For a preliminary transcript review, please send an unofficial transcript from each institution you have attended to rnbs@boisestate.edu. There is no cost for review, and no obligation to apply or enroll. Once your transcript has been reviewed, we will e-mail you back with information based on your specific circumstances.
