Pre-Advanced Medical Imaging Pathway
Do you want to change careers and enter a high-demand medical field with competitive pay? The pre-advanced medical imaging pathway is designed for students interested in entering the imaging profession who do not have a current imaging credential or license. The primary pathway is available for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Interventional Cardiology modalities.
This primary pathway sets the foundation for you to earn an online Bachelor of Science in Advanced Medical Imaging and sit for imaging credentialing exams. Once you are admitted to the program, you will complete a clinical experience in one of the following primary pathway modalities: Interventional Cardiology (IC), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR). Post-primary pathways require a previous degree and certification in diagnostic radiology. The post-primary pathways we offer are Interventional Radiology (IR), Computed Tomography (CT), IC, DMS and MR.
After completing the pre-advanced medical imaging pathway, you will need to complete the advanced medical imaging program application to be admitted into the bachelor’s degree program.
Pathway Requirements
The pre-advanced medical imaging primary pathway is for students who wish to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Advanced Medical Imaging and are working to complete an associate of arts or associate of science degree OR have a degree but not an imaging credential.
Primary Pathway Patient Care Courses for Advanced Medical Imaging
Primary pathway courses are available for students that do not have a current imaging credential. These courses will prepare you to be successful in a clinical setting. After completion of these courses you will have the option to complete the DMS, MR, or IC modalities.
