Working with SMEs, the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY!

OPWL Webinar

At its heart, performance-based training is about helping others in the organization perform their job tasks more like the organization’s best. As IDs, we often work with these exemplary performers (a.k.a. “subject matter experts” or SMEs). At our best, we find ways to collaborate so we can represent their expertise in ways that instructional designers can use to create training and that organizations can use to leverage performance in ways that meet business goals. But what happens in all of those other cases?

Join Andrea as she shares hard-won tips and tricks for working with SMEs. During our time together, she will:

  • Help you identify the qualities of your SME: Good, bad, and ugly
  • Share facts about SMEs and what makes them tick
  • Offer solutions for working with the bad and the ugly
