COBRE in Convergent Engineering & Biomolecular Science Call for White Papers

The NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Convergent Engineering and Biomolecular Science (CEBS) at Boise State University is requesting white papers from investigators interested in 1) pilot project funding (1 year) or 2) Research Project Lead funding programs (up to 3 years).

The goal of this program is to promote and enhance biomedical research at Boise State University by providing support to faculty interested in developing research projects relating to biomedical devices, sensors, and systems. The program also seeks to promote collaborative research by encouraging applications that span engineering and the biomolecular sciences.

Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Researcher Funding Opportunities

Civic Engagement Microgrant Program

Now in its sixth year, Research!America’s Civic Engagement Microgrant Program provides groups of early career STEM researchers and professionals with funding (up to $4000), training, and mentorship to plan and host community programs and events that foster connection between scientists, community members, and local officials to strengthen public engagement in science. Through this program participants gain experience in science communication, science policy and community engagement, build skills in program management and grant-writing, attend workshops hosted by Research!America staff experts, and connect with program participants from around the country.

Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science is pleased to announce that the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is now open for applications. The SCGSR program provides supplemental funds for graduate awardees to conduct part of their thesis research at a participating host DOE laboratory/facility in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist within a defined award period ranging from 3 to 12 consecutive months. Each awardee is eligible to receive a monthly stipend and travel expenses directly associated with conducting the SCGSR research project.
