Our Services
The Research Administration Systems and Analytics (RASA) office at Boise State University is responsible for managing systems, data, and analytics related to research administration.
We work closely with Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and Research Enterprise Services (RES) to help manage the pre-award, contracting, and post-award steps in the Research and Creative Activity Ecosystem, as well as research compliance, training, and support.
This includes:
- Data Management: RASA develops and maintains databases and information systems that support various aspects of research administration, including tracking proposals, awards, compliance data, and other relevant metrics.
- Systems Development: RASA implements, updates, and maintains software systems to streamline research administration processes and improve efficiency
- Analytics and Reporting:Â RASA designs and maintains reports and dashboards containing data related to research administration.
- Process Improvement:Â RASA collaborates with stakeholders across the university to identify areas for process improvement within research administration.

Research Administration Systems and Analytics Core Processes
RASA has created a process map to clarify its core services in relation to other offices on campus, such as the Office of Information Technology, Business Intelligence Reporting Services, and the Project Management Office. The purpose of these processes is to provide accurate data, reliable systems, and useful solutions to the campus community, promoting innovation and advancing research and creative activity. This first process map describes the inputs RASA receives from the supplier and outputs RASA generates for the customer.
The second process map describes the high-level steps involved in each of the tasks RASA commonly performs, including ensuring system stability, governing security and data, providing accurate analytics, diagnosing and resolving issues, and empowering users with useful solutions.
