Collaborations
The Research Administration Systems and Analytics Office collaborates with multiple offices and departments across the university, in an effort to support the University’s strategy of promoting innovation and advancing research and creative activity by serving faculty, staff, and students in their system and analytics-related needs.
Overall, these departments work collaboratively with RASA and the research department to provide essential support services, infrastructure, and expertise to facilitate research activities, ensure compliance, and promote operational excellence. Their collective efforts contribute to the success and advancement of research endeavors at Boise State University.
Research and Economic Development
The Division of Research and Economic Development (DRED) provides support to faculty and students during all phases of research. We manage the university’s intellectual property portfolio, facilitate relationships with industry for research and commercialization collaboration, and lead outreach to foster economic development in Boise and the region. We do all of this through several core research units.
Research Enterprise Services
Research Enterprise Services (RES) provides operational, analytical, and programmatic support services to faculty, staff, and external partners throughout the Research and Creative Activity Ecosystem.
Office of Sponsored Programs
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) provides specialized support and full guidance in securing external funding, crafting proposals, budgeting, compliance, and managing contracts.
With a focus on adherence to federal, state, and institutional guidelines, OSP aids Principal Investigators and their teams in smoothly navigating the intricacies of sponsored project management from start to finish.
Office of Research Compliance
ORC ensures that research conducted at Boise State University complies with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards. This includes overseeing compliance with human subjects protection, animal care, biosafety, and research integrity.
ORC collaborates with RASA to ensure that research administration systems support compliance tracking and reporting requirements. This may involve integrating compliance data into centralized systems managed by RASA for comprehensive oversight.
Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity
IPC focuses on cybersecurity research, education, and outreach to address emerging cybersecurity challenges and protect critical information assets.
IPC collaborates with RASA to ensure that research administration systems adhere to cybersecurity best practices and standards. This includes implementing robust security measures to safeguard sensitive research data and intellectual property.
Office of Information Technology
OIT provides essential technology infrastructure and support services to facilitate research activities. This includes managing network infrastructure, providing access to research computing resources, and offering technical support for research administration systems managed by RASA.
OIT collaborates with RASA to ensure that research administration systems are well-integrated with university-wide IT infrastructure, secure, and accessible to researchers and administrative staff.
Business Intelligence Reporting Services
BIRS is responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence tools and reports that provide insights into various aspects of university operations, including research administration.
BIRS collaborates with RASA to develop custom reports and analytics tools tailored to the needs of the research department. This includes dashboards for monitoring proposal activity, funding trends, compliance metrics, and other key performance indicators.
Office of Continuous Improvement
OCI promotes a culture of continuous improvement across Boise State University by facilitating process improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering innovation.
OCI collaborates with RASA to identify opportunities for process improvement within research administration. This includes streamlining workflows, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing user experience with research administration systems managed by RASA.
