Program Accreditation
The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.
The Department of Respiratory Care offers three programs. CoARC accredits the Bachelor of Science Degree Advancement Program, Bachelor of Science Entry to Practice Program, and the Master of Science in Respiratory Care.

Bachelor of Science Entry to Practice Program number: #200069
Master of Science in Respiratory Care Program number: #520007
The Bachelor of Science Degree Advancement Program number: #510007 (online) and the Master of Science in Respiratory Care Program number: #520007 (online) hold Provisional Accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
This status signifies that a program with an Approval of Intent has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the Standards (through submission of an acceptable Provisional Accreditation Self Study Report (PSSR) and any other documentation required by the CoARC, as well as satisfactory completion of an initial on site visit), to be allowed to admit students. It is recognized as an accredited program by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), which provides enrolled students who complete the program with eligibility for the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). The programs will remain on Provisional accreditation until it achieves Continuing Accreditation.

Program Goals
The following are program goals we have that align with our CoARC accreditations
BSRC Program Goals
To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains pf respiratory care practice as performed by register respiratory therapists (RRTs).
To prepare leaders for the field of reparatory care by including curricular content with objectives related to the acquisition of skills in one or more of the following: management, education, research and advanced clinical practice (which may include an area of clinical specialization.
RRT-BS (online) and Master’s (online) Goals
To provide graduates of entry into respiratory care professional practice degree programs with additional knowledge, skills, and attributes in leadership, management, education, research, and/or advanced clinical practice that will enable them to meet their current professional goals and prepare them for practice as advanced degree respiratory therapists.
The goals are accomplished through our Student Learning Outcomes for the RRT-BS and Program Learning Outcomes for our Master’s program.
