Community Partnership Insurance Requirements

Approved by Boise State Office of Risk Management on April 23, 2024

All community partners applying to work with the Boise State Service-Learning Program should hold the following minimum insurance coverage unless exempted by the Boise State Risk Management Office.

      • General Liability: Insurance should be no less than $1 million Combined Single Limit per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, throughout the established partnership with Boise State University.
      • Workers’ Compensation: Insured shall maintain all statutorily required Workers’ Compensation coverage to include Employer’s Liability at minimum limits of $1,000,000/$1,000,000/$1,000,000
      • Automobile Liability (only if applicable): Not less than $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit.
      • Certificate of Insurance: An “AM Best” rating (or equivalent) of “A” or better and be licensed and admitted in Idaho. All policies required shall be written as primary policies and not contributing to nor in excess of any coverage Certificate Holder may choose to
        maintain.

You can apply for an exception by contacting the Service-Learning Program if your organization is unable to meet these requirements. Organizations exempted from minimum insurance coverage can only be considered for low-risk or indirect service projects.
