How has your Political Science degree helped you in your career goals?
The program offered me the opportunity to hone practical skills I deemed valuable, such as data collection and evaluation, written communication, and analysis of written work. It also provided me the opportunity to develop original research under the tutelage of great instructors. The experience allowed me to consider potential PhD programs as well, helping me decide whether to pursue such path in the future.

How has your Political Science degree helped you in your career goals?

  • Understanding situations means taking a look below the surface to find things are not always as they appear.
  • Curiosity drives growth and fosters motivation.
  • Careful research is at the heart of uncovering facts which are the foundation of any worthwhile investigation.
  • The key to being successful is moving forward toward the future, is to learn the most effective way to work collaboratively with peers while mindfully incorporating old ideas with new inspiration.

How has your Political Science degree helped you in your career goals?
For me, the MA POLS program introduced me to a side of learning that I had not experienced before, one that fostered a true desire to learn more and explore new topics on my own to better myself as an individual. It gave me an edge in my career by setting me apart from other college students working in politics and attracting the attention of possible employers. These two things combined set me up to be a successful employee as I am always trying to learn more and can show that I am a critically thinking and well rounded individual, both through my degree and what I have learned on my own.

How has your Political Science degree helped you in your career goals?

My Political Science degree helped me narrow down exactly what my career goals are from the broader context of international relations and development work, then gave me the resources to pursue those goals.

How has your Political Science degree helped you in your career goals?
The Boise State MA Political Science program has provided me with the necessary tools and research skills to go on and obtain a doctoral degree. Throughout my journey at Boise State, I obtained research experience working as a Graduate Assistant and have had the privilege of learning under great professors that specialize in various political science subjects. The faculty works really closely with students and, in my experience, the professors have sincerely supported my goals and assisted me in pursuing my objectives. I truly believe that these qualities and the overall MA program were critical to my achievements and my current position as a prospective scholar.
