5 ½ Things About Travel Opportunities at Boise State

It’s an opportune time of life to see the world and gain life-changing, career-strengthening experiences. Being a full-time college student, doesn’t mean you can’t take time to travel. Whether you’re considering traveling abroad or taking a weekend getaway keep reading to find out how you can scratch that itch to travel.

1) Study abroad

College is a unique time to experience things you might not get to after you graduate. When else will you get to travel internationally and experience a whole new culture while getting a degree? 2) Join student clubs and organizations

Being a part of student clubs and organizations allows you to be involved with what’s happening on campus and have opportunities to join new friends on trips like retreats, conferences, or cultural exchanges. Search CampusGroups for clubs and upcoming events to join. It’s never too late to get involved!

3) Adventure with the Outdoor Program

4) Sign up for Alternative Breaks

Want to make a difference? A week or so off from school is the perfect opportunity to dedicate your time off to a service project through Alternative Breaks. You could get to travel within the states to build homes, volunteer in an animal sanctuary, maintain trails and more.

5) Work or volunteer abroad

If your time to study abroad is running out or you don’t want to focus on school while navigating a new country, consider working or volunteering abroad You could join the peace corps, find an internship in another country or steward your service for a community in need.

5½ ) Take advantage of the Bronco Shuttle Service

The Bronco Shuttle Service will take students to the airport for Thanksgiving break if you sign-up for a ride to the airport by tomorrow. So secure your spot now! For local adventures, the shuttle typically takes you across campus or downtown Boise for free. Cruise along the Greenbelt, catch an on-campus event (like the tree lighting coming up) or explore downtown Boise.
