Let’s face it. It’s not easy asking for help. It’s even more difficult when you’re alone at home, at least 6 feet away from anyone who could help you. But we want you to know whether you’re 6 feet away or states away from campus, we care about you and want to help you succeed. Here are 5 ½ ways:

1) Help with your school work

If you need some extra help with your classes, you can get tutoring and other academic help online. It’s a great resource to help you keep on top of your class work.

2) Help with your physical or mental health

Health Services is open and offering both in person and telehealth appointments. They’ve had to make a few operational changes in response to COVID-19, but they’re as willing and ready as ever to help with your medical and mental health needs.

3) Help with your career goals or job search

Career Services has you covered there. They’ve compiled a list of companies that are currently hiring. Plus, career counselors are taking remote appointments and are happy to meet with you over phone, email or video – whatever works best for you. Now is also a good time to get ahead of your career goals by applying to Work U. Applications for fall are now open.

4) Help with the basics

If you’re struggling to meet your basic needs – food, bills, etc. – the Office of the Dean of Students offers a number of resources that exist specifically to help you through difficult situations. Don’t be afraid to reach out.

5) Help with your online classes

Having trouble adjusting to online classes? Start by talking to your professors. Let them know you’re struggling. They want to help you do well, even if that help has to be from a distance. Then take a look at the tips and tools on the Learning Remotely web page and get familiar with all of the resources available to you.

5 ½) Help with your social life

It’s hard being responsible and self-isolating and having a social life—all of us are feeling that. Just because you’re doing your part to stop the spread of COVID-19, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. We’ve compiled a list of ways for you to connect with people from a distance.
