Hackfort Tech Challenge sees students compete for cash prizes while solving real-world problems

Do you have a passion for technology and entrepreneurship and want to make a difference in your community?

Show Boise and the Hackfort community your tech skills while competing for cash prizes, Treefort wristbands and a “Golden Ticket” to pitch in the Fall 2023 Boise Entrepreneur Week pitch competition.

The Hackfort Tech Challenge is a statewide competition offered in partnership by Boise State University’s Venture College, a program in the College of Innovation and Design, Treefort Music Fest and Boise Entrepreneur Week.

Offered as a part of Hackfort, the Hackfort Tech Challenge encourages innovation and celebrates all things tech.

Cash Prizes and Treefort Passes

In addition to competing for cash prizes, finalists in the Hackfort Tech Challenge will receive a Treefort Music Fest pass.

Winners of the Hackfort Tech Challenge will receive a “Golden Ticket” to pitch in the Fall 2023 Boise Entrepreneur Week Pitch Competition, which is an opportunity to raise additional funds to pursue your venture.

Eligibility

The Hackfort Tech Challenge is open to university students across Idaho. You must have at least one registered Idaho university or college student on your team in order to compete.

Application Process

  1. Identify a problem within our community you wish to solve with technology.
  2. Complete an application to the Hackfort Tech Challenge describing your solution by March 17.
  3. Applications will be reviewed by preliminary judges.
  4. Finalist teams will be selected to pitch at Hackfort on Saturday, March 25 at 10 am MT. These teams will receive passes to Treefort Music Fest.
