Steps for Transferring to Boise State

Step 1: Get Admitted to Boise State

You will need to work with the Boise State Admissions to complete all necessary requirements for admission to the university. You can Apply as a Transfer Student or contact the Boise State Admissions Office directly with any questions about your application or admission status.

Step 2: Send Your Official Transcript to Boise State

You will need to have all completed transfer work sent to the Boise State Admissions Office. Requesting this information varies depending on your transfer institution. If you have been accepted to Boise State while in progress of classes, it is crucial that you send your final transcript prior to your new student orientation date.

The Transfer Equivalency System (TES) might be able to give you an idea of how your credits transfer to Boise State.  If a course is not listed or does not appear to have equivalency, an advisor will help clarify the reason at new student orientation.  In some instances, the department offering similar courses can review the credits for equivalency.  This process should be initiated with the assistance of an academic advisor.  See more transfer details on the Transfer Credits Basics page.

New student orientation is typically when students first meet with an advisor, and it is the most important step in your transition to Boise State. Prior to your orientation, an advisor reviews your credits and prepares a plan of classes for registration.
