If you are not familiar with the Order of the Engineer, it was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer through a ring worn by all members on the 5th finger of their working hand. The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or dues to pay. Instead, the Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one’s lifelong pledge as an engineer. To qualify, members must be one of the following:

- Senior undergraduate engineering major (within one academic year of graduation)
- Graduate Student in EAC, or ABET-accredited program
- Engineering major that graduated from an EAC, or ABET program
- Licensed professional engineer

Register online here no later than Friday, April 30th with your information including your ring size for the 5th finger on your working hand. For your ring size check here. The one-time cost to join is only $12 which covers your ring, certificate, pocket card, and lifetime membership!
Dr. Nick Hudyma, Chair of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Eric Jankowski, Assistant Professor of the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Dr. John Gardner, Chair and Professor in the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Department and Director of the CAES Energy Efficiency Research Institute will emcee the event. NOTE – Due to COVID-19 Protocols, in-person registration will be limited to the first 40 students. Should more students be interested we may look at options for an alternate location.
