Training Offerings
The Office of the Dean of Students is here to provide training and information around barriers to success our students are facing. The following is a list of trainings currently available upon request.
Academic Integrity Workshop
The Online Academic Integrity Workshop supports stronger student understanding of academic integrity and academic misconduct at Boise State. Common scenarios regarding the most frequent form of academic misconduct (cheating, plagiarism, and unauthorized collaboration) are followed by self-check quizzes that ask students to identify academic misconduct as well as alternative actions and strategies that uphold academic integrity. This workshop is offered asynchronously through Canvas and can be assigned to groups of students.
Suggested for: Any courses in which faculty want to instill a stronger culture of academic integrity

Academic Integrity Training – Online Classroom Visit
A representative from the Academic Integrity Program can visit your online class to discuss with students the Student Code of Conduct, why academic integrity matters, and strategies and practices that students should exercise in order to ethically uphold academic integrity. This presentation can be customized to meet faculty specifications and connect academic integrity concepts specifically to the course and/or students’ field of study.

Basic Needs of Students
This presentation will provide a brief overview of research and data related to food and housing insecurity among college students. Additionally, information on what Boise State is doing to address needs during the pandemic and ways that you can help reduce stigma and get students connected with resources.

Campus Assessment, Resource, and Education (CARE)
A broad overview of the CARE program including purpose/mission, data and trends, how to report concerns, what to report, and the process and actions that might take place after a CARE alert is submitted.

Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) – Screener Tool
This training will provide a brief overview of data on suicide and a screener tool that participants can use to evaluate the level of risk for suicide. Participants will leave this training with an understanding of the prevalence of suicide, how to administer the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale Screener Tool, and how to effectively refer to appropriate resources.

Peers Supporting Peers: Trauma Informed Support for Student Leaders
This workshop is intended for all student leaders on campus as a part of a campus-wide initiative to create a trauma-informed campus. During the training, student leaders will learn what trauma is, their role as a trauma-informed Boise State University representative, and a basic framework for how to offer trauma-informed support while staying within their scope of practice.

Suicide Intervention Skills Workshop
Conversational tips to use with students, faculty, staff experiencing mental health issues and suicidality, as well as how to refer and/or conduct a warm hand off to campus resources like University Health Services or other off campus providers.
Suggested for: Any student, staff, or faculty group interested in learning about suicide prevention and providing referrals to those experiencing suicidality.
