Testing Services
Testing Services can help you save time and money on your degree by earning credit for knowledge you already have. Learn how CLEP, DSST and proctored exams can be applied to your Boise State or Community College of the Air Force degree and support progress in online programs.
What We Offer
Boise State offers testing services to help military students earn college credit, meet degree requirements and stay on track toward graduation.
- CLEP Testing: College-Level Examination Program exams allow you to earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge in specific subject areas. Passing scores may fulfill requirements for both your Community College of the Air Force degree and your Boise State degree.
- DSST Testing: Defense Subject Standardized Tests provide another option to earn college credit based on prior learning and experience. Like CLEP, DSST exams can help reduce the number of courses you need to take.
- Proctored Testing: Need a proctored exam for a course? Our staff is certified to proctor exams at the on-base testing center, supporting both Boise State students and military members taking exams for other institutions.
- Study Resources: Testing Services can help you prepare by connecting you with approved study resources so you understand exam expectations and subject coverage before test day.
Why Use Testing
Earn college credit and save time and money by taking College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Defense Subject Standardized Test (DSST) exams. Current military members may take these exams at no cost through the DANTES program.
These exams are designed to test your knowledge in specific college subjects. Passing scores can fulfill degree requirements for the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and Boise State University, including fully online degree programs.
Testing can be especially helpful for students enrolled in online programs by allowing you to apply prior learning toward your degree and move more quickly through your academic plan.
Need a proctored exam for an online class? Our certified staff can proctor exams at the base testing center.
