Psychiatry
Psychiatry services are provided by a medical doctor specially trained and certified in the diagnosis and management of mental health disorders. This specialty service is provided for students only, and by referral only from our Counseling or Medical Services providers. Psychiatrists treat mental health issues that may not respond to counseling or single medications prescribed by your primary care provider. Examples of problems that psychiatrists manage are:
- Depression (especially treatment-resistant forms)
- Generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and social anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorders
- Psychosis, including schizophrenia
- Eating disorders
- Gender identity disorders
