Honors Housing

The Honors College and Sawtooth Hall building is the brand-new and beautiful location for the Boise State Honors College.

The Honors College and Sawtooth Hall opened its doors in August 2017. The five-story building houses up to 650 students and the Honors College offices and classrooms. Half of the housing is designated for Honors students; the other half is for first-year students from all majors. Residential facilities exist alongside communal meeting areas and the Honors College administrative offices to create a sense of community that integrates all major aspects of college life.

Honors College housing is not required for Honors students, but it is a wonderful networking opportunity that we highly recommend students to consider.

Honors College and Sawtooth Hall Community

The Honors College staff offices are located in the NE corner near the dining hall, across from the Student Union Building. Next to the staff offices, students can visit or lounge at stations in the hallway.

The Honors College classrooms are bright, roomy, and filled with state-of-the-art learning technology. Students and groups can also reserve the classrooms for studying, game or movie nights, and weekly activities. The lounge and classrooms are home to weekly gatherings that include cultural, intellectual, and entertaining presentations that spark stimulating discussions for Honors students.

Honors College housing is bordered on the north by the Boise River, miles of Green Belt for walking and wheeled activities, and Julia Davis Park. Residents can easily access nearby tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, an intramural field, and the Student Recreation Center. Many campus facilities are also within easy access, including the Albertsons Library, the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, University Health Services, Brady Parking Garage, and the Student Union Building & Special Events Center directly across the street.

The Honors College housing’s top-tier amenities include a new efficiency Honors-exclusive laundry room and a mailing and print station. The floor plans are creative, open, and flooded with spectacular views of the foothills and campus courtesy of the expansive windows on every wall. Residents can relax on a chaise lounge or take advantage of individual study nooks tucked into the corners. The building also boasts reservable and walk-in group study areas with large-screen TVs and whiteboards.

For food, students can cook a meal or prepare a snack in the luxe main kitchen areas on each floor or visit the SouthFork Market. The SouthFork Market is open to the entire campus community. It will feature fresh food concepts, expanded hours and ethnic food rotations. There is also a P.O.D. Market for quick snacks and drinks to go.

Residential Information

Resident housing in the Honors College consists of both individual rooms in 2- or 4-bedroom suites and double rooms in 2-bedroom suites for first year students. The building also offers individual rooms in 2- or 4-bedroom suites for students at the sophomore level and above.
